Action News Jax sources: Uncle confesses to involvement in missing pregnant teen's disappearance

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax sources say pregnant teen Iyana Sawyer was murdered and that Iyana Sawyer's uncle, Johnathan Quiles, confessed to his involvement in her disappearance.

Sources tell Action News Jax, police were searching for evidence in the disappearance of 16-year-old Iyana Sawyer, a pregnant teen last seen leaving Terry Parker High School in December 2018.

In the weeks after Iyana Sawyer’s disappearance, Sky Action News Jax was over the scene as investigators searched the business where the teen’s uncle worked.

Action News Jax sources confirm investigators are looking into other people who may be connected to Iyana Sawyer’s disappearance.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said they are no longer searching a landfill located on Otis Road.
