Police seek suspect in scratch-off ticket heist

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A scratch-off ticket heist is shocking neighbors in Clay County. Deputies said they believe a woman stole scratch-off lottery tickets from a Speedway Gas Station on Blanding Boulevard.

Investigators believe the woman walked behind the counter, and began pulling off lottery tickets while the clerk was cleaning the restroom. Neighbor Lori Marsh said it’s unnerving to know someone could easily access the register.

“I don’t think the counter should be as accessible. You can walk right in the store, go right around the corner and you’re behind the counter,” Marsh said.

Deputies said they believe the woman who stole the tickets recently cashed them in at a Publix in Duval County.
