UPDATE 6/6/2019, 10:55 P.M.: Family members of Shirley Blakely, a woman who was killed Thursday, told Action News Jax's Ryan Nelson that she died in her son's arms, but not before naming her killer.
Blakely's granddaughter says she named a man that lived nearby.
"Before she died, she took her last breath in his arms and was telling him who shot her, or who stabbed her, OR whatever, and she pointed," Blakely's granddaughter, Mikesha Taylor said.
Taylor said Blakely had mentioned the man's name before, saying he believed Blakely had cursed him.
"They said something about a curse or something, like she did a curse on him," Taylor said. "She doesn't even believe in stuff like that."
We asked the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office if they’ve heard anything in reference to a curse, and if it may have been a possible motive in the killing. We’ll be sure to update you when we receive a response.
At this time, JSO said no arrest has been made and the case is still being investigated.
