Police: Woman knocks down 72-year-old woman, takes her purse in front of Palatka Kmart

A woman was arrested Wednesday after police say she confessed to knocking down a 72-year-old woman and taking her purse in front of Kmart.

Sheila Arthur, 28, is charged with robbery and is being held without bond, according to a release from the Palatka Police Department.

Police said the 72-year-old woman was approaching the store when Arthur knocked the woman down, took her purse and ran.

The victim's purse was recovered. She had minor injuries to her right hand as a result of the incident.

According to the Putnam County Jail log, her arrest history in Putnam County goes back to 2006 and includes arrests for battery on a person 65 years of age or older, child neglect and drug possession.
