DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — 8:10 a.m. Update: Philips Highway has reopened for traffic hours after it was shut down near Sunbeam Road after a car crashed, hitting a gas line around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A car crashed on Philips Highway Wednesday morning, hitting a gas line, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
Previously, both southbound and northbound lanes of Philips Highway between Sunbeam and Shad roads were closed, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, but JFRD said the northbound lanes have since reopened.
