PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — UPDATE 2/20/21 4:50 p.m.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for Nyeisha Nelson who went missing on Feb. 11.
The human remains that were found in a wooded area outside of Crescent City have not been identified and police cannot determine if they relate to Nelson’s case.
The remains will undergo an autopsy and police expect results in a weeks time.

UPDATE 2/20/2021: - Putnam County Sheriff’s Office will be having a news conference on missing Crescent City woman Nyeisha Nelson at 4pm today on new developments in the case.
Putnam County Sheriff’s has announced they have found human remains in a wooded area off Huntington Road.
FEB.19 UPDATE 4:40 p.m.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office gave an update on the disappearance of 20-year-old Nyeisha Ariona Nelson.
Here’s what we learned:
- Family contacted the Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 17 about Nelsons disappearance
- Nelson was last seen dropping off her 5-year-old daughter at school
- They found Nelson’s car just outside of Cresent City
- Deputies and detectives are looking for any evidence
- Nelson was well known in the community
- Deputies believe someone has seen her

FEB. 19 UPDATE:
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said they have located the car of missing mother Nyeisha Nelson and have executed a precautionary search warrant for her home, which is standard protocol when foul play is possible.
K9s are currently sniffing the area where the car was found.
ORIGINAL STORY:
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office needs help locating 20-year-old Nyeisha Ariona Nelson of Crescent City. Deputies say she may be endangered.
According to a Facebook post from PCSO, family members say that Nelson picked up her daughter and dropped her off at school on Feb. 10. The post also goes on to say that a neighbor reported seeing Nelson in the yard of her residence on Ohio Street before leaving in her 2008 grey Honda Accord.
She was last seen in a white t-shirt, grey shorts, and carrying a purse.
Family members say Nelson is in contact with them several times a day but has not made contact with anyone since Feb. 11.
