Minutes later, Prentice-Bryant and his family heard the wind pick up right over their house in Interlachen.
“All of a sudden there is a “rrrrr” and bomb,” he said.
Their back-porch roof was ripped off from the wind and landed in their front yard.
“It was a very scary situation,” Prentice-Bryant said.
Luckily, no one was hurt.

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado did in fact touch down in the area.
Neighbors said others experienced similar damage.
“I walked down here and I saw all these trees down,” Mary Lou Beyreis said.
Prentice-Bryant has already put a claim in with his insurance company. Despite the damage, neighbors say they were lucky.
“Everyone is safe. That’s the important part. You know, belongings and structures, they can all be replaced, but people’s lives can’t,” said Prentice-Bryant.
