The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said a man has been arrested after a verbal argument between three people turned violent near County Road 309.
A woman involved was flown to a hospital with serious injuries, Putnam officials said.
Officials said the conflict began between a man and a woman in a relationship, and one of their adult children.
The adult child reportedly left the house and called police; the Sheriff's Office and fire rescue responded to the scene.
A negotiator was reportedly called but the man surrendered on his own, officials said.
The woman reportedly suffered from what looked like head trauma although the public information officer could not confirm whether it was caused by a gunshot or blunt force trauma.
Putnam County officials said they will release more information on Monday.
