SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC — Former Redsox player David Ortiz was shot during a robbery attempt in the Dominican Republic, according to reports.
Ortiz's father told ESPN that the 43-year-old is headed to the hospital.
A tweet from the Dominican news station CDN 37 said that Ortiz was shot in the leg and the shooter was arrested.
