Report: Fruit Cove man unfazed by multiple shocks during Walmart pill theft

A St. Johns County man is in jail Tuesday after he was accused of trying to steal controlled substances from the Walmart Pharmacy on State Road 13 in Julington Creek.

Johnathan Foss, 28, forced his way behind the pharmacy counter and tried to take medication, deputies said.

When deputies arrived, Foss tried to fight them and was shocked two times with a stun gun, the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said. He even pulled the electrical prongs from his body and walked out the Walmart door, deputies said.

Foss tried to flee on foot but was captured after a brief chase across State Road 13.

He was shocked with a stun gun a third time before officers secured him, the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said.

Foss managed to take $3,500 worth of medication during the incident, deputies said.
