A man and woman were arrested in St. Augustine on suspicion shooting at a car carrying two children.
Shaniqwa Copeland, 21 and Darnell Hines, 25, were arrested after a verbal argument between the two that led to gunfire that hit a car with two young children inside, officials said.

The shooting happened on Feb. 25 on South St. Johns Street when Copeland drove her car toward Hines' car. After she hit Hines' car, Hines said he acted out in self-defense and shot four rounds at Copeland's car, which had their 5-month-old child and 15-month-old child sitting in the rear passenger seats, authorities said.
Officers said there were bullet holes in the passenger side of Copeland's car. Officers said Copeland said she moved her car to hit the Hines car.
Copeland and Hines faces charges of having a deadly weapon without intent to kill and child abuse without great bodily harm, the police report said.
