Restaurant Report visits Ceviche Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — No restaurants topped the list for health violations were closed this week, but they had an unusually high proportion of high priority violations.

Ceviche Jax in Atlantic Beach had 15 violations, including food not in its original container, food stored in ice used for drinks, and raw animal food stored over ready-to-eat food.

Health inspectors found 12 violations at Enza’s Italian Restaurant on San Jose Boulevard. The violations include live small flying insects, ready-to-eat food more than seven days old and a walk-in cooler not maintaining its temperature.

At Mema's Restaurant in Satsuma, inspectors found 17 violations, including gaskets with a slimy buildup, an employee touching food with bare hands and a worker using the hand-wash sink as a dump sink.
