Search for missing Clay County woman Jordan Cooper: 'We're not going to stop looking for her'

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The family of a local woman who disappeared Saturday said they just want to know she's safe.

Jordan Cooper, 25, disappeared from her home on Payne Road in Keystone Heights on Saturday.

Investigators say she has the mental capacity of a 13- or 14-year-old.

Dolly Cooper is worried about what happened to her niece. Cooper said family members have been passing around missing person flyers, looking for answers.

“We’re not going to stop looking for her,” Dolly Cooper said.

Deputies have also been searching for Cooper in the air and on the ground. On Thursday, search teams were performing grid searches of the area near her home.

“These are the areas that we have found out that she either walked, went to, those kind of things. She wasn’t known to actively leave her home,” said Sgt. Keith Smith with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

Her cousin Michael Perry says this is unusual behavior for Cooper.

“This is nothing like Jordan. She’s never done anything like this. I just want to know that she’ll be all right. I want to know if she left on her own accord,” Perry said.
