ShotSpotter leads Jacksonville police to man shot in neck

A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after police in Jacksonville said he was shot in the neck early Friday morning.

Officers responded to the intersection of Steel Street and Barnett Street after a report from ShotSpottera gunshot detector sytsem, of 6 gunshots in that area around 1:48 a.m.

When they arrived, they found the man with a single gunshot wound.

Detectives are investigating.

The ShotSpotter system went live in July 2017.
