Cory Sasser's son has opened up about his father, stepmother and the tragic series of events that led to the double murder of Katie Sasser and the man she was seeing, John Hall Jr. as well as his father's suicide.
Bryce Sasser, now a police officer himself, is working to heal, saying his father was trying to save his marriage.
“From the day that this happened months ago, my father made every effort,” Bryce Sasser said.

Police body camera video from May of this year shows the marriage between Cory and Katie Sasser unraveling and Cory falling into a downward spiral from which he would never pull out.
On that night, officers described a hostile Cory Sasser trying to break into Katie’s Brunswick home.
More than a month after the confrontation with his estranged wife, Katie Sasser and her friend John Hall Jr. were gunned down.
Cory Sasser then later took his own life while surrounded by the very SWAT team members he’d worked alongside.
On Tuesday, Bryce said he's trying to move forward, but wishes his father had taken a different path.

“He worked so hard to save that marriage to keep the family together," Bryce said.
Cory Sasser's best friend Wayne Hutchenson told Action News Jax Sasser needed help, and that losing his marriage weighed heavily on Sasser.
“It ate on his mind so hard to the point where it took control of his mind," Hutchenson said.
Bryce Sasser followed in his father’s footsteps, graduating from the police academy and now serving the citizens of Brunswick.
“I’m going to be the best police officer I can be," he said.

For the younger Sasser, he’s choosing to remember Cory Sasser as a loving father, and hopes everyone impacted can heal.
We’ve asked the Glynn County Police Department why Cory Sasser wasn’t arrested that night in May, we’re told there won’t be an update until the Georgia Bureau of Investigation completes the investigation.
