Southside Seafood restaurant has food temperature issues

Ship 2 Shore

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The first round of inspections since Hurricane Matthew, and for the first time no restaurants had roaches.

Action News Jax anchor Romney Smith visited Ship 2 Shore Seafood and Steaks on Southside Boulevard. A health inspector issued a stop sale on mac & cheese, noted four items including hush puppy mix and kale held too warm and saw an employee who didn’t wash their hands in the kitchen hand wash sink before working with food. An employee told Smith there is a reason it received a clean follow-up inspection.

“Everything's been corrected expeditiously as soon as it was brought to our attention,” said the employee.

At the Loving Cup Hash House, an inspector noted multiple temperature violations that included cold food held too warm and warm food held too cold, the dish machine sanitizer was too weak to clean and they noticed 40 rodent droppings. A follow-up inspection is required.

At Super Wings and Philly on Wilson Boulevard, a health inspector saw two live flies, no time markings on chicken wings, and noticed a misrepresentation of food via the restaurant advertising salmon then offering swai fish instead. A follow-up inspection is required.
