Jacksonville, Fl — The Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration Committee of St. Johns County hosts St. Augustine’s 40th Annual Commemorative Event on Saturday, January 18 to celebrate the memory of Dr. King and his great influence in the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964.
The City of Jacksonville, along with the Jacksonville Branch NAACP, the Jacksonville Urban League, and the JAX Chamber, invite the community to the 38th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast on Friday, January 17, at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center. The theme of this year’s event is “Audacious Faith in the Future,” which is a phrase from Dr. King’s 1964 Nobel Prize Acceptance Speech.
Colors of the Wild: Zoolights Lantern Experience continues on select nights through February at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.
Spirit in the Land is a contemporary art exhibition at the Cummer Museum. It examines today’s urgent ecological concerns from a cultural perspective, demonstrating how intricately our identities and natural environments are intertwined.
