St. Augustine Fire Department rescue people stuck in elevator

St. Augustine firefighters rescued two people trapped inside a St. Augustine elevator on Monday.

The pair was inside the elevator for over an hour stuck between two floors before crews reached them and performed a technical rescue.

No injuries were reported, but the firefighters did say the men opted to take the stairs as they left the building.

In 2016 an Action News Jax iinvestigations showed dozens of local elevators with failed and expired inspections.
