ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — St. Johns County announced Thursday that the Main Branch library in St. Augustine will temporarily close down next month for a roof replacement project.
Construction is expected to begin Monday, February 3rd, and neighbors will no longer be allowed inside.
The project is expected to take approximately two months, before a reopening to the public by the end of March.

In the meantime, the county recommends nearby library visitors to instead visit the Anastasia Island (124 Seagrove Main St.) or Southeast (6670 U.S. 1 South) branches.
Patrons may still access online resources, including e-books, databases, and digital newspapers, on the SJCPLS website.

Holds and Late fees
If you have some books already checked out - don’t worry. During the closure, no items will be due, all holds will be extended, and members will not accrue any late fees. Book drop-off and donations will also not be accepted at this location.
If you do want to pick up a hold or return an item to the Main Branch, a bookmobile will temporarily stop there every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for pick-up. However, you will not be able to browse or check out new items.
AARP Tax Preparation Assistance
AARP Tax Preparation Assistance will not be offered at the Main Branch this season. To accommodate users of this service, expanded hours will be offered at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center, located at 1300 Duval St. AARP will be offering appointments from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays, beginning Feb. 3.
