SWAT standoff in St. Johns County neighborhood ends peacefully

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team responded to an incident at Longleaf Pine Parkway near Creekside High School Saturday evening.

Road patrol handled the initial call, notified hostage negotiators and the SWAT team, then set up a command post.

A fire truck and an ambulance are on stand by.

An Action News viewer says they saw heavy police activity around 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

Officials say the standoff situation ended peacefully.
