St. Johns County official returns from deployment

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — St. Johns County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller Brandon J. Patty resumed his duties on Dec. 30 after being deployed with the U.S. Navy.

According to a news release, Patty received a “notification of his selection for involuntary mobilization in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE” in Dec. 2023.

“While I am excited to rejoin our team, I am also keeping those brave men and women serving here and abroad in mind. They are true heroes who are under threat one way or another,” Patty said in the release.

He was granted a leave of absence from his comptroller duties by Governor DeSantis.

“The office over the past seven months did an outstanding job meeting our mission and keeping operations running smoothly—they’ve truly been exceptional,” Patty said.

On Tuesday, Patty will be sworn into his next four-year term.
