Action News Jax told you Thursday about how a storm surge overwash from Tropical Storm Nicole created considerable damage to the road and closed it for most of the day.
Last night, personnel from the Florida Department of Transportation were hard at work making emergency repairs to the road late into the evening.
Although repairs are complete, St. Johns County EM is still telling drivers to use caution on A1A, particularly in the areas of Guana River Road and Carcaba Road.
St. Johns County will continue damage assessment and repairs throughout the day and next couple of weeks.
