ST JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — UPDATE 3/24/2021 11:39 a.m.:
A report from the Florida Highway Patrol says that a 56-year-old Jacksonville man has died after a crash on I-95 Wednesday morning.
The report says that a sedan and a tractor-trailer were traveling north on I-95 near County Road 210. Troopers say that the sedan was either driving slowly or stopped in the middle lane.
According to FHP, the tractor-trailer was unable to stop and hit the sedan. This caused the sedan to run off the road onto the left shoulder and collide with the guardrail.
The tractor-trailer also ran off the road into the left shoulder and overturned.
The driver of the sedan died from his injuries. The 37-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.
He said it took so long to clean up because of the severity of the crash, debris field and vehicle removal.
