FHP: Man dead after crash on State Road 206 in St. Johns County

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on State Road 206 at South Walk Place Tuesday night.

According to the crash report, an SUV was traveling westbound on SR 206 at South Walk Place. At the same time, a pickup truck was traveling westbound on SR 206 directly behind the SUV.

The front of the pickup truck struck the rear of the SUV, causing the pickup truck to travel off the left side of the roadway and hit a tree. The SUV came to a controlled stop on the north grassy shoulder.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 72-year-old man from St. Augustine, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV, a 39-year-old woman from Palm Coast, is cooperating with law enforcement.
