St. Augustine police looking for man who attacked bouncer with broken bottle in New Years brawl

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — St. Augustine Police Department is looking for a suspect after a bouncer was seriously injured in a brawl at the White Lion on New Years Eve.

According to detectives, the suspect is wanted for aggravated battery after he struck a security officer in the head multiple times with a broken bottle. Police say that the officer was attacked while trying to break up a bar fight.

In the incident report, it says officers responded to at approximately 11:10 p.m. and found the security guard with a large laceration on his forehead. The guard told police that patrons were trying to cut in line to get into the business, and when he told them to wait, he refused and tried to push by.

When the guard tried to move a particularly aggressive subject out of the way, the suspect smashed him in the head with a broken bottle from behind. The sujects then fled the scene.

Due to the severity of his injuries, the security guard was transported by St. Johns County Fire Rescue to Flagler Hospital.

Police told Action News Jax that suspect is a white man, roughly 5 feet, 11 inches, wearing black hoodie with dyed blonde hair.
