Lightning strike appears to be cause of house fire in Nocatee, SJCFR fire chief says

St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to a house fire in Nocatee on Thursday.

Crews were dispatched to the 400 block of Eagle Rock Drive.

A viewer told Action News Jax fire was smoldering from the roof and an SJCFR ladder truck was putting water on the home.

A fire chief on scene told Action News Jax that a lightning strike appeared to be the cause of the fire.

The chief said there was a hole in the roof and the fire was contained to the attic and was able to be extinguished quickly.
