A local high school student claims she was assaulted by her teacher.

Mikayla Skrine, 15, said her teacher at Robert E. Lee High School grabbed her and forced her out of the classroom Monday.

Cell phone video appears to show the teacher slam Skrine’s head into the door before throwing her out in the hallway.

Skrine said she was humiliated in front of her classmates.

“I was just shocked because I never thought that anything like that would happen,” Skrine said.

Adrianna Baker said her daughter got home from school and told her about the altercation. She said she brought her daughter to the emergency room after she complained of a headache.

Baker said she wants the teacher to face consequences.

“I don't want it to happen to anybody else. I don't want it to be swept under the rug. I want justice for my daughter,” Baker said.

Action News Jax reached out to the Duval County Public School District for comment but was told the report is currently under review by the Office of Professional Standards.

Since it’s actively being reviewed, a spokesperson was unable to provide additional information.
