GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — UPDATE: The McIntosh County Sheriff's Department confirmed that Johnny Hall, 39, was dead at the scene on Mission Drive. Also found deceased was Katie Kettles Sasser, 34, estranged wife of Cory Sasser.
Investigators say the front door where the two were killed was forced open. Deputies are working to get a search warrant to search the home.
Police said the deaths of Katie Sasser and John Hall were the result of an ongoing domestic dispute.
Court documents reveal that Cory Sasser was fired from his job in May. He and his wife were going through a divorce.
Cory Sasser was seen leaving the scene and is the only suspect in this case, deputies said.
In divorce documents, Katie Sasser had said she was in fear for her safety in the month leading up to the shooting.
Sasser had been recently ordered to get treatment for PTSD.
ORIGINAL STORY: The suspended Glynn County lieutenant at the center of a SWAT standoff at his home was found dead inside his vehicle parked outside his home, authorities said in a media briefing Friday morning.
Shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday, the McIntosh Sheriff's Office received a call of a shooting. A DNR ranger in the area of the address where gunfire was heard, saw a vehicle leaving the area.
The driver was suspended Glynn County Lt. Robert Cory Sasser.
Authorities said Sasser gave a decoy story to the ranger when questioned and sped off.
At that McIntosh residence, a man and woman were found dead. Authorities believe the deceased male victim exchanged gunfire with the the gunman.
An officer located Sasser's vehicle on Highway 12 and was led on a low-speed pursuit, ending at Sasser's home.
Authorities said Sasser never exited the vehicle.

There were no shots fired at Sasser's vehicle, authorities said but mentioned that SWAT shot CS gas into the vehicle to get him to exit.

After several hours and no movement SWAT approached and found Sasser deceased inside the vehicle.
The man and woman found dead have not been identified pending notification of next of kin.
Sasser was suspended without pay in May after his GCPD chief John Powell was made aware of a domestic dispute involving Sasser.
Sasser had a civil court hearing set for Tuesday and was being monitored by a local probation office, officials said.

6/29/18 4:11 a.m. UPDATE: According to Glynn County police, the SWAT standoff involving suspended lieutenant Robert Cory Sasser is over.
Authorities say this is an ongoing investigation and have not said if anyone was harmed.
Action News Jax has received several tips that there are multiple fatalities.

The Glynn County Police Department confirmed Thursday that suspended lieutenant Robert Cory Sasser is in a standoff at his home.
The standoff is located off of County Road 341 in Hunter's Point.
Sasser was suspended in May after GCPD chief John Powell was made aware of a domestic dispute involving Sasser.
According to Glynn County, an investigation was conducted by the GCPD Chief of Staff, Brian Scott, who said that probable cause of crimes did exist.
Warrants for battery and criminal trespass under the Family Violence act, were issued for Sasser, Glynn County said in a statement.
Sasser turned himself in to the Glynn County police, according to Glynn County, and has been on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of a further internal investigation.
