TBI: Man on Tennessee's Most Wanted List may be in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations said Tuesday that a man on its most wanted list for murder may be in Jacksonville.

Kameron Maurice Leslie, 30, has been on Tennessee's Most Wanted List since February, according to TBI. Leslie is wanted by the Chattanooga Police Department and TBI for first-degree murder, according to TBI.

TBI said that it has gained some information that leads investigators to believe Leslie may be in the Jacksonville area.

Action News Jax reporter Christy Turner spoke to the victim's mother who says that the suspect is a monster and needs to turn himself in. She says as far as she knows, he doesn't have any family here in Jacksonville.

A CPD press release states that Leslie is wanted after its officers responded to a death. The victim, Taja Whiteside, 30, was found unresponsive at a home and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death was ruled a homicide by the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police in Chatanooga say Leslie strangled his girlfriend, Whiteside, in January. Whiteside was a mother of three.

A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to his arrest, according to TBI.
