TikTok is ‘in the process’ of restoring service throughout the U.S.

12 hours after its voluntary shutdown, TikTok appears to be in the process of restoring its service to users in the U.S.

In a statement posted to X, TikTok stated the following:

TikTok thanks President-elect Trump for ‘providing the necessary clarity and assurance’ to service providers.

President Trump previously stated that he intends to impose an executive order that will postpone the ban on the app, giving TikTok’s Chinese parent company, Bytedance, more time to find a U.S. buyer.
