Keystone Heights, Fla. — Update: According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a sedan driven by a 20-year-old woman was traveling at high speeds, eastbound on County Road 214. The driver was unable to safely turn during a curve in the road and crossed the centerline.
A vehicle heading westbound slammed into the on-coming sedan that crossed over the centerline. Both cars came to a rest in the shoulder after making impact.
The driver and an 18-year-old woman passenger that collided with the second car where pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car that was hit head-on and a second passenger of the car that lost control were both transported to UF Health of Gainesville after suffering serious injuries.
Original Story: All lanes at County Road 214 and Laredo Street in Keystone Heights are closed due to a deadly crash.
Two vehicles are involved.
Public service aides are directing traffic around the area.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
