ST AUGUSTINE, Fla. — UPDATE: The Florida Highway Patrol has confirmed that the driver of a pickup truck is dead from the I-95 accident that Action News Jax first alerted earlier.
The FHP report stated that for an unknown reason, the pickup truck drifted across the southbound lanes and onto the grass. The truck continued traveling into the woods until it collided head-on with a tree.
The driver died as a result of injuries suffered from the crash.
The Southbound lanes of I-95 near State Road 16 have cleared and traffic is flowing normally.

Highway cameras indicate that a long traffic backup has resulted, and drivers are being warned to drive with caution if in the area.
