A tropical storm in the Caribbean is expected to become a hurricane on Thursday.
Tropical Storm Matthew is strengthening in the Caribbean Sea and is forecast to become a hurricane later today.
Matthew is then forecast to turn north by the end of the weekend and continue north in the Atlantic next week.
Local impacts are expected to include breezy conditions, scattered showers and an elevated risk of rip current next week.
