A broad area of low pressure over the southwestern Caribbean Sea could develop into a tropical system as it moves north-northwest.
The system has a 60 percent chance of forming a tropical depression within the next five days.
It will begin drifting north/northwestward across the northwestern Caribbean and into the Gulf of Mexico by the weekend.
The next storm to develop will be named Nate.

Meanwhile, the local Nor'easter is winding down. Gusty onshore winds will continue most of this week, especially at the beaches and Intracoastal and along the St. Johns River.
We will see higher than average tides resulting in occasional flooding especially at high tide.
The full moon Thursday will add an astronomical boost.
