JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Monday, May 27, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the Avenues Mall to assist with an animal investigation regarding a animal in a vehicle. According to JSO, an officer used his department-issued window breaking tool to free a small multi-colored pig from the backseat.
The officer then placed the pig in his own backseat with a bucket of water.

Authorities and a witness were unable to initially locate the owner of the vehicle. While attempting to identify the vehicle, suspects Trinity Tavarez-Soto, 19, and Mark Gray, 20, walked out of the mall and to the suspect vehicle, according to JSO.

After determining the vehicle belonged to them, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrested the two on animal cruelty charges.
Animal Control removed the pig from the scene.
