WAYCROSS, Ga. — Two men have been arrested and charged with raping and murdering a Waycross woman inside her home, police said.

Police said Suzanne Stilwell was stabbed to death in her home.

Namon Wilcox Jr. and Ryan Christopher Raulerson were arrested and charged with aggravated assault, burglary, murder and rape.

Waycross Police Chief Tony Tanner said authorities found Stilwell's car on a dirt road off Lejeune Road over the weekend.

When they went to her home on Monday, their suspicions grew, he said.

“The side door was open, there was a screen cut and the dogs were running at large, which is highly unlikely because she was very specific with her dogs,” Tanner said.

Officers went inside and found Stillwell stabbed to death.

Stilwell's friends lingered outside her home Tuesday as officers continued to investigate her murder. A friend of Stilwell's, who identified himself only as Mario, said she was the most giving person he knew.

“Even if she didn't have it, she would give something from her house, a room to stay in -- there was no reason for anyone to hurt her,” Mario said.

Police say Stillwell and Raulerson used to be roommates. Raulerson is a registered sex offender in Waycross.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is helping local authorities in the investigation.

Stillwell’s body was sent to the state crime lab.
