ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Two people are recovering in a hospital after their plane crashed into a marsh near the Northeast Regional Airport in St. Augustine.
TRENDING:
Malcolm Kingsley has lived near the airport for 23 years. He said it could basically be called a crash zone.
"The last few years, we've had, that I can remember, probably six accidents here," Kingsley said.
You can no longer see that plane on the ground, but Malcolm Kingsley lives on the marsh and gave us a look at his backyard anyway. He says crashes happen here ofte and believes it’s because of the flight school @ActionNewsJax pic.twitter.com/3Icmc95zTe

On Sunday morning, two men crashed after an attempted emergency landing. Florida Highway Patrol said it was from unknown mechanical failures.
The pilot is from St. Johns County. The passenger was not local. The two men were 44 and 19.
St. Johns Fire and Rescue said the two got out of the plane on their own. Then a good Samaritan picked them up on his boat and drove them to a fire rescue boat, which brought them to shore.

In September, a different pilot had similar issues with his plane. According to FHP, a 76-year-old pilot was trying to take off when the plane veered and landed in a grassy area.
"A couple flight schools here at the airport," Kingsley said. "Every once in a while they'll have a problem."
Both men have minor injuries and were taken to Flagler Hospital.
