JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating two violent attacks at local internet cafes in just two days.
On Friday, only Action News Jax heard from the brother of Douglas Cox, who died Wednesday night at the Dream Arcade when he put himself between the gunman and a female employee.
Derrick Cox is calling on the community for help.

“If anyone knows anything, please, my brother deserves justice,” Cox said. “There’s a killer running the streets that needs to be locked up like an animal, like the animal he is.”
At the Wilson Boulevard arcade Friday morning, JSO said two men with guns forced their way inside and threw at least two people on the ground, demanding money and phones.
Jasmine lives near that arcade. She has worked at five others.
Fearing retaliation, she wouldn’t show her face, but she says something needs to be done to improve safety around these businesses, where Action News Jax saw children playing.
“They were all getting pretty serious,” she said. “It just wasn’t safe. I just had a little baby.”
“When you say serious, [do you mean] drugs, weapons?” Action News Jax reporter Russell Colburn asked.

“That’s what it seems like,” she said.
Action News Jax spoke with a representative of each arcade, and neither would comment.
Action News Jax also reached out to JSO, which says officers have not heard of any connection between these cases.
