Friday the University of North Florida ushered in a new era, welcoming the school’s 6th President Dr. David Szymanski.
Students told Action News Jax they already had suggestions for the Szymanski.
“I wish we had more parking for off campus and commuter students,” explained Freshman, Jude Turk.
Szymanski is committed to continuing the work of predecessor John Delaney.
He said, “The quality of students we have, the graduation rates, job placement, the academic programs – you certainly want to continue those.”
UNF’s website shows enrollment numbers steadily increasing since 2015.
The new president is focused on innovation he believes will accelerate enrollment momentum.
“Make sure students have an opportunity to meet their professors, know their professor, research projects, also thinking about transformational learning experiences,” Szymanski said of his plans.
He also told Action News Jax diversifying the student body is a top priority.
