Volunteers needed for annual post-Fourth of July cleanup on Jacksonville's Beaches

Jacksonville Beach, Fla. — First the party, then the cleanup.

The City of Jacksonville and Keep Jacksonville Beautiful are looking for volunteers to help clean up the beaches following Fourth of July festivities.

Volunteers will meet at 7 a.m. at these three locations:

  • Atlantic Boulevard at the ocean.
  • Beach Boulevard at the ocean.
  • Seagate Avenue at the ocean.

You’ll need to wear sturdy footwear and protection, and you should bring your own drinking water.

Participants must be at least 18 years old or be accompanied by an adult.

You don’t need to register in advance, and cleanups will only be canceled if there’s bad weather.

Last year, 221 volunteers contributed 442 hours to collect 150 bags, or 3,000 pounds, of trash.
