CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — Loved ones and friends of the unarmed Camden County dad shot and killed by a former Kingsland police officer are fighting against the verdict.

The group blocked traffic on Highway 40 at Boone Street, a busy intersection just off I-95 on Thursday.
Tony Green’s cousin Kimberly Smith was among the protesters who were chanting while holding signs.
She told Action News Jax, “I really just want justice for him so that he can rest in peace.”

On Saturday, Action News Jax reported when jurors decided Zechariah Presley, who shot and killed Green, was not guilty of voluntary and involuntary manslaughter.
Jurors found him guilty of violation of oath of office.

“He can’t be tried again for the charges he got, but we fighting for murder, cause it was cold out murder,” said Smith.
During testimony in the week long trial, Presley said Green reached for his duty belt.
The former officer said he fired the deadly shots because he feared for his life.
Peter Anderson who was among the protesters said, “We want to block up the main highway in our county to let people know, so they can be aware. When we interrupt their morning, when we interrupt their comfortability, we let them know and they recognize.”
Smith said she’s fighting for her family and the community.
She explained, “It could have been one of our kids.”
The group has a community discussion about violence set for Friday, Oct.10 10 at 5:30.
Presley’s sentencing is set for Friday, Oct. 17.
