JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The fight for justice continues for the family of a local gospel singer who was shot and killed in 2016.

Jerry Brown’s case is still unsolved.
This past Saturday marked seven years since he lost his life…January 28, 2016.

Brown’s aunt found him shot to death in her driveway in Grand Park, while he was sitting in a car.
Action News Jax spoke to Brown’s cousin, Chevie Green on Monday.
“Missing him tremendously. We still don’t understand,” Green said. “A lot of confusion, unanswered questions and unfortunately trying really hard not to lose hope.”
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigated his death as a drive-by shooting.
His family said Brown had no enemies and that this was a case of mistaken identity.
“We need some answers or some direction of what’s going on,” Green said.

She asks if you know anything -- to speak up.
“The smallest thing that you may not think matters, may be the biggest clue we need,” Green said.
Last year the family was notified by police about new technology and evidence -- but there are still no new leads.
“Anything at all -- just know it will help,” Green said. “Obviously, we know it won’t bring him back. But it will give some sort of solace and some sort of a little bit of peace. It’s a recurring nightmare.”
She says Jerry was full of joy and energy.
This is just one of many things that stands out the most to Green about her cousin.

“When you walked away, you felt so good,” Green said. “You felt so loved. There’s one thing I know that gives an ounce of anything -- he knew he was loved and we knew he loved us.”
