DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — A pipe in a well burst on Jacksonville’s Westside Thursday morning and flooded neighbors yards.

JEA turned off the water to the well, however the water pressure and supply to the neighborhood was not affected.

According to JEA the cause of the leak was a failed mechanical joint.

The water flooded yards in the Lakeshore neighborhood, near Colonial Avenue and Jersey Street as 500,000 gallons of water was lost during the leak.
