JACKSONVILLE — Jacksonville police are investigating a shooting in Northwest Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a home around 9:30 a.m. near 13th and Connally streets in the Grand Park neighborhood after being alerted by ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection system.
Witnesses at the scene told Action News Jax reporter Robert Grant that dozens of shots were fired, and the victim is a grandmother in her 70s.
According to JSO, someone drove up to the woman who was standing outside and began shooting. The woman was struck at least once but suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
