JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax is working to learn more about police activity in the Avondale area on Tuesday evening.
People who work at a veterinary hospital in the area tell us a red SUV crashed into two cars.

This happened near Herschel Street and Geraldine Drive.
The man driving the SUV ran from the car, they say, causing people to panic and shelter in the hospital.
This caused the hospital to go on a brief lockdown.

A manager at the facility saw police chasing the man and said officers caught the man.
When our crew arrived, they saw gang units and officers searching the red SUV.
