JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Residents of Jacksonville honored iconic civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday morning with the annual MLK Day parade.
The parade started near the Daily’s Place Amphitheater on Bay Street and will ended at Johnson Street near the Prime Osborn Convention Center.

Floats and decorated vehicles represented local businesses and organizations while also exhibiting a theme related to Dr. King’s message.
Food and giveaways also took place along the parade route as well as live entertainment from various local bands and performers.

Other parades on Monday also honored King. The parade in Waycross will meet at 12 p.m. on McDonald Street and MLK Drive.
In Fernandina Beach, a parade at Peck Center on South 10th Street kicked off at noon. In Lake City, the parade began at 10 a.m. on South 10th Street.
