JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two men, Stefan Robinson and Malcolm Baker, were killed at a boarding house off Cottage Aveune.
Officers said the men were shot to death and the killers took off.
Neighbors said after they heard about the shooting, they checked their home to make sure it was secure.
“It's kind of scary, I checked downstairs, walked around, made sure everything was locked up tight,” said neighbor Barbara Fisk.
But one neighbor said he actually saw the killers run down Silver Street and hop into a car.
“It was a black car, nice exhaust system, they didn't actually turn on their lights so I couldn't see the exact car,” he said.
He said just days before, he heard the men that were killed were fighting over money.
“Everyone has called the cops on this building, specifically because of what's going on, it’s kind of like a fast-food restaurant for drugs,” he said.
The neighbor said he hopes JSO does something to stop the crime in this neighborhood for good, and that the killers are caught.
The man said the two men he saw run off were wearing all black and hoodies.
This complex is the same one that Action News has seen become the center of controversy in the neighborhood for a different reason.
A nonprofit wanted to make it into a place that could house the homeless.
Many neighbors we spoke to were against this idea, as they were worried about what it would do to their neighborhood.
