Shorts ruled out vs. Pittsburgh this week

Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley speaks after Sunday's loss against the Redskins.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jaguars won't have Cecil Shorts available for this Sunday's game with Pittsburgh but will get WR Ace Sanders back off the suspension list the team said today.

Shorts has a muscle strain near his hamstring and will be out indefinitely, for the third time since training camp began.  In other news Gus Bradley said today in his Monday press conference the team did play better Sunday despite the 33-14 loss to San Diego. Blake Bortles completed almost 80 percent of his passes in his NFL debut, but Bradley says there were some growing pains. "He missed a couple open guys, and had a little bit of miscommunication in the huddle a couple times, but overall I was very pleased," said Bradley.

As for the defense, Bradley said they must limit explosive plays.  On the bright side they did stop the run and according to Bradley missed only seven tackles.

The (0-4) Jaguars back home Sunday against Pittsburgh.
