According to KMGH-TV, the incident occurred near the Dreamweaver Couloir on Mt. Meeker and was witnessed by other climbers in the area.

Park officials confirmed to the TV station that the three affected climbers included two men and one woman.

The female climber suffered minor injuries, KDVR reported. Meanwhile, one of the men suffered injuries severe enough to warrant a request for assistance from the Colorado National Guard helicopter from Buckley Air Force Base, which arrived at about 2 p.m. local time and successfully extricated the man via a hoist operation.

The man has been transported to an area hospital, but his condition remained unknown Sunday night, KMGH reported.

Search-and-rescue teams located the body of the second man using passive radar to find a RECCO device attach to his gear, KDVR reported. The recovery of the body will be delayed due to adverse conditions.
