The first trailer for “Coming 2 America,” the sequel to the 1988 Eddie Murphy comedy “Coming to America,” has been released.
The movie picks up 30 years after Prince Akeem, played by Murphy, left the fictional country of Zamunda for a final adventure in America before embarking on an arranged marriage.
Instead of marrying the woman picked by his parents to be his wife and future queen, Akeem fell in love with Lisa McDowell, played by Shari Headley.
Murphy and Headley reprise their roles, along with Arsenio Hall (Semmi), Paul Bates (Oha), John Amos (Cleo McDowell) and James Earl Jones (King Jaffe Joffer), Entertainment Weekly reported.
Garcelle Beauvais and Vanessa Bell Calloway return, Essence reported.
